Rainbow Mountain - Treks in Cusco

  • Perfect for: All travelers in Cusco
  • Level: Moderate/challenging
  • Distance: 7 km/4.5 miles

Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca, is renowned for its strikingly colorful terrain which creates rainbow-like layers seen nowhere else. Located at an altitude of over 5,000 meters, it offers trekkers an unforgettable visual experience as they hike through remote Andean landscapes such as the Red Valley. Despite its challenging altitude, the trek is relatively short and can be completed in a day.

It’s strongly recommended to travel with a reputable, local tour operator as it’s not the easiest of treks. We recommend checking out Rainbow Mountain Travels, they’re the official tour operator and offer what we consider the best tour to the colored hill.
